What’s it about:
Welcome to Chester’s Mill. Things are about to get very… well, cozy is not the right word but contained might do it. Also panicked, claustrophobic, and microcosmic as in a town and its inhabitants, a few visitors (lucky and unlucky) and all of their stories are soon to fall under a giant mysterious invisible but shocking bubble.
CBS’s series is based on the big, fat (aren’t they all?) Stephen King novel of the same name. Hometown-proud Montrealers will want to know that Rachelle Lefevre stars. Breaking Bad fans will recognize Dean Norris. Stephen King fans will recognize some of his standard characters. And I (mostly) mean that in a good way.
Why do I want to watch it:
Although I don’t generally like to see anything before you kind people do, because frankly it just goes right to my head and I’m impossible to live with, but I couldn’t resist watching the preview copy of the first episode and it made me kick myself for not finishing the book. Which I have begun weightlifting so i can hold it up long enough to finish it.
What do the real critics say? Well, 31 critics were scanned by metacritic.com/tv and the average score was 73 out of 100. Now you know.
